Thanksgiving in the Northwest!

Our engagement hasn't been ordinary by any standards. For most of it I have been living in Seattle and Josh in Chattanooga. Josh came to visit me for Thanksgiving! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! Josh got to meet all of my cousins from the Seattle area. We toured the city, rode the ferry, went to Pike's Market, and had the most amazing seafood dinner at Salty's on Alki! Hopefully Josh will post pictures soon!!!! **hint hint Josh***

I'm glad Josh got to come out here!! It was just hard to let him go back! Working in the Northwest has been an amazing experience, but I am very ready to come home!

My first posting...

I thought I would create a blog about us, Erin and Josh. I tried unsuccessfully to create a website at theknot.com, so this is my next best option.

Josh and I were engaged on June 8, 2008 after 1 year and 7 days of dating. Some say its soon, but honestly, I knew I was going to marry Josh after 2 weeks. =) I'll spare you the sappy reasons why, but very early in our relationship I knew he was the one for me!!

Josh is one of the most caring and sincere people that I know. He puts his whole heart into everything that he does, and I have the utmost respect for him because of it.

About us...

Josh Melhorn is 26 and from Red Bank Tennessee. He's the only son of Vicki and Bill Melhorn. He loves to play sports, and watch sports. He graduated from Red Bank High School in '00. He then got a degree in Mechanical Enginnering from UTK, and will soon get his Masters in Engineering Management from UTC. He works for Alstom Power.

Erin (me) is 25 and from Cleveland, Tennesse by way of Birmingham, Alabama. I have two brothers, Brian (23) and Carl (18). I graduated from Cleveland High in '01, got a bachelors in Business Administration from UT, and a doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Belmont University. I am a traveling therapist for PPR Healthcare.

We've spent most of our engagement living on seperate coasts. I'm working in Seattle while Josh holds down the fort in Chattanooga. It's not been the "typical" engagement, but it's been wonderful for us! We fit 2 wedding showers, and engagement pictures into one weekend.

We're getting married at Aventura Spa Palace in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. However, we want to share our excitement with all of our friends SO... we're having a big reception on February 21, 2009 where we will celebrate with all of our friends and family!! WE HOPE EVERYONE CAN COME!!!!!
